SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 DECEMBER 2018
Previous Council Consideration
Ordinary Meeting, 21 June 2018, Item 1 Page 12
That Council note the overview report by the Community Development Manager to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 12 June 2018 regarding recommended Round 1
2018/2019 Community Project Grants and proposed 3 year funding arrangements for Sports Field
Maintenance, Community Alliance and the Management and Maintenance of Halls and Centres.
Finance
Funding for the 2018/19 Community Grants Program was determined as part of the 2018/19
Budget process. Excluding Environment Levy funded grants (projects and alliance) there will be
approximately $24,000 remaining – these dollars will be held to meet potential sewerage and water
contributions.
In the 2018/19 financial year, Environment grants are being funded out of the Environment Levy.
$235,000 of this year’s Environment Levy was allocated towards environmental grants. The
$59,530 funded this round will bring the total allocated this financial year to $121,808.98.
Expenditure this financial year on environmental grants has been significantly lower than expected
as the new Environmental Grants Policy is still being developed in conjunction with Council’s
Environment Strategy. This policy work is due for completion in early 2019, in time for the next
round of grants.
