SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The purpose of this report is for council to adopt Council meeting dates and times for holding
future Council meetings during 2014.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In accordance with the Local Government Act 2009 and the Local Government Regulation 2012,
Council at its post election meeting is required to consider the day and times of future meetings.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
Nil.

REPORT
In considering the day and times of future Council meetings, Council is further advised of S257 of
the Local Government Regulation 2012 which requires that a local government meet at least
once in each month.

It is proposed that Council meetings during 2014 be held as follows:

•      Thursday 2 January 2014 commencing at 1 pm
•      Monday 13 January 2014 commencing at 10 am
•      Monday 20 January 2014 commencing at 10 am
•      Thursday 6 February 2014 commencing at 6 pm
•      From 6 February onwards, on a four weekly cycle commencing at 6pm, except for a single
       5 weekly cycle following the meeting on 26 June.

It is proposed that the Chief of Staff develop the corporate meetings calendar and publish the
details of future Council meetings on the internet and corporate website. Details should include
the information that all meetings must be held at Council offices in Tewantin unless determined
otherwise by Council at a previous meeting.
