INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 22 JULY 2014

The project to be delivered at Pomona State School was not specified but Sunshine Coast
Council provided design plans for a pedestrian refuge at the intersection of Station Street and
Reserve Street. This project was problematic in that it involved land acquisitions and there are
also pavement issues in Station Street. It was also, in the opinion of Noosa Council staff, not the
highest priority site in the area. A decision was made to consider construction of a pedestrian
refuge in Hill Street instead and to defer this project to 2014/15.

As a result, a variation was made to the program to reallocate the $50,000 TIDS funding to other
projects as follows:

1.   Increase TIDS funding for the Cooran State School project from $15,000 to $30,000;
2. As Council was resurfacing a section of Eenie Creek Road and as this is a LRRS, the
remainder of the funding i.e. $35,000 was allocated to this project.

A further variation involving the reallocation of $16,000 from the Sunshine Beach State School
project to the Cooran State School project was made towards the end of June. This was due to
concern that the Sunshine Beach State School project would not be finished before the end of
the financial year meaning that Council would be unable to claim all of the TIDS funding for this
project. The final TIDS allocations are shown in the table below:

A claim has already been submitted to TMR for $81,000 relating to the Cooran State School and
Eenie Creek Road project. A claim for the remaining $29,000 relating to the Sunshine Beach
State School project will be made in July.

Previous Council Consideration

Initial budget adjustments were made in Budget Review 1, final adjustments will be considered
as part of the end of year financial statements.

Finance & Risk

As a result of the adjustments made to the program, Council will be able to claim the full amount
of TIDS funding allocated for the 2013/14 financial year.
