While the proposed car parking for the gym falls well short of the required car parking under the
planning scheme (17 spaces), the applicant has demonstrated that if a booking system is put in
place and the number of members is limited to no more than 27 patrons on site at any one time, the
proposed on site car parking is likely to be satisfactory. It is though recommended in this regard that
the approval be limited to a maximum of 2 years to allow the proposed arrangements to be monitored
over time to ensure this is a workable solution. At the end of this time, where no parking impacts
arise, the applicant may seek this time limit be removed or extended.
It is therefore recommended the application be approved subject to reasonable and relevant
conditions.
