RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Asset Planning Coordinator to the Services & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 8 November 2016 and adopt the updated Asset Management Policy
provided at Attachment 1 to the report which reflects the changes in the establishment of the Asset
Management Steering Committee.
REPORT
With the implementation of the asset management roadmap, a number of initiatives have
commenced in developing Council’s asset management capabilities. One of these initiatives
includes the establishment of an asset management steering committee which has resulted in a
need to change the asset management policy to better reflect the asset management governance
within the organisation.
An updated asset management policy is attached to this report.
Previous Council Consideration
Ordinary Meeting, 25 September 2014, Item 1, Page 21
That Council note the report by the Asset Planning Manager to the Infrastructure & Services
Committee Meeting dated 16 September 2014 and the General Committee Meeting dated 22
September 2014 and:
A. Rescind the existing Asset Management policy that transferred to Council from the Sunshine
Coast Regional Council under the Local Government (De-amalgamation Implementation)
Regulation 2013; and
B. Adopt the new Asset Management Policy shown as Attachment 1 to the report to General
Committee dated 22 September 2014 and authorise the Chief Executive Officer to put in
place administrative guidelines and tools required to implement the policy.
