8.0 CONCLUSIONS
Duke Environmental was commissioned by Altum Constructions to undertake this Bushfire
Hazard Assessment and Management Plan. The site is located at Resort Drive, Noosa Heads
and is described as Lot 6 SP178340.
The proposal consists of an application for a residential development comprising a total of 42
units with associated roads and infrastructure. The site was observed with topography
analogous with Rolling Hills (>10% to 20%).
Generally, based on the hazard scores we calculate the position of part of the development to
represent a high risk for bushfire attack, due to the site topography in this location and the
neighbouring National Park.
The predominant mature canopy tree height for the mapped hazardous vegetation
surrounding the proposed development is approximately 13m. The proposed building
envelopes allow a minimum 13m buffer to the canopy of this vegetation. The development on
site should include the removal of all hazardous vegetation and surface fuels on the site.
Based on the above assessment it is considered that the proposal be approved subject to the
recommendations in Section 7.0 of this report.
