3.1.2 2019 Meeting
Following the release of the New Noosa Plan for public consultation, a follow-up prelodgement meeting was
held with Council on 20 March 2019 to discuss the implications of the New Noosa Plan on the proposed
development. Key outcomes of the meeting are summarised as follows:
• The change in zoning from two of the parcels from Rural Settlement to Rural was intended to
discourage further subdivision of the site; and
• Council acknowledge that the wording regarding rural settlement zone intent in the current scheme is
more lenient than the rural zone intent in the proposed scheme, however, they indicated that this
would not drastically impact on their assessment of the proposal and acknowledged that a RAC is
impact assessable and an inconsistent use regardless of the distinctions between the zones.
• The draft Noosa Plan identifies the Agricultural Conservation Land overlay relating to the land. The
viability of the land for agricultural values needs to be addressed as part of the application.
• RPS confirmed that the site is capable of new constructed access above Q100.
