MCU10/2083 Development Application part 2 - Attachment 6 - Noise Impact Assessment Report
Proposed Commercial Development 37 Gibson Street Noosaville ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE IMPACT ASSESSMENT 26906 R06 37 Gibson Rd Noosaville ENV © TTM Consulting Pty Ltd 2010 The nearest affected resident to the Tenancy 8 outdoor area is Receiver 2, which is a single storey dwelling. Compliance with the evening criteria is predicted at this receiver provided that a 2.2m high acoustic barrier is constructed on the boundary. Use of the bin areas is predicted to exceed the sleep disturbance criteria during the night period at Receiver 5. We have recommended that use of this area is restricted from 7am to 10pm. All remaining onsite activities including car movements and patronage of the centre are predicted to comply for all time periods. 8. RECOMMENDATIONS 8.1. Recommended Acoustic Barrier To reduce noise levels at neighbouring receivers to within acceptable levels, we recommend the construction of an acoustic barrier to the height and extent shown in Figure 4 below. The acoustic barrier should be constructed free of gaps or holes and of a material with a minimum surface density of 12.5kg/m2. Suitable materials include overlapped timber palings (with an overlap of 40%), masonry, toughened safety glass, fibre cement sheet, earth mounding, or a combination of these materials.
