MCU10/2083 Development Application part 2 - Attachment 6 - Noise Impact Assessment Report
Proposed Commercial Development 37 Gibson Street Noosaville ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE IMPACT ASSESSMENT 26906 R06 37 Gibson Rd Noosaville ENV © TTM Consulting Pty Ltd 2010 8.2. Management principles To mitigate potential noise impacts to the nearest sensitive premises, we recommend the following management principles be applied to the site: Waste collection should be limited to the daytime period, between 7am and 6pm; Waste disposal to the refuse area and the washing of bins shall only occur from 7am to 10pm; Deliveries shall only occur from 7am to 10pm; All shop doors on the southern and western building facades shall remain closed when not in use for immediate access. In additional staff shall not congregate at the rear of the shops; Patronage in the tenancy 1 outdoor area shall be limited to the daytime period, between 7am and 6pm; Patronage in the tenancy 8 outdoor area shall be limited to the daytime and evening period, between 7am and 10pm. It is predicted that all remaining onsite activities will comply with the relevant Sunshine Coast Regional Council assessment criteria. 8.3. Onsite Mechanical Plant Noise Included in the design is a 1m parapet that will provided additional attenuation to Receivers 2-5 from of rooftop plant noise. Because detailed plant selections are not available at this stage, it is not possible to carry out a detailed examination of the ameliorative measures that may be required to achieve the noise targets. Plant will be acoustically treated to achieve the criteria detailed in Section 6.2 to prevent noise emissions from adversely impacting the surrounding properties. This may include selecting the quietest plant possible, or treating the plant equipment with enclosures, barriers, duct lining and silencers, etc if required to comply with the assessment criteria. Experience with similar projects indicates that it would be possible to achieve the Council requirement with appropriate treatment of the plant. This treatment would be determined at the Building Approval/Construction Certificate stage. A mechanical plant noise assessment should be conducted by a suitably qualified acoustic person once plant selections are finalised; and compliance tests conducted after the equipment is installed to ensure compliance with the criteria. Such measures should also be conditioned in the Development Approval. Page 15
