 Queensland Police Service: Noosa Police advise that it only knows this road as Sunshine
   Beach Road and there is no recollection of responding to a request for assistance at David
   Low Way, Noosa Heads.

 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services: Queensland Fire & Rescue Area Commander
   advised that their system identifies the road as Sunshine Beach Road.

 Mapping Systems: Council’s external website mapping labels the road Sunshine Beach
   Road however this name does not exist as an address search. Google Maps shows a label
   on the road as Sunshine Beach Road however it recognises the road for searches under both
   Sunshine Beach Road and David Low Way.

While Council’s computerised property system does not recognise Sunshine Beach Road as a
street name, all properties located on this road have their property address as David Low Way as
per the previous council resolution. Revenue Services have advised that if the name is changed
it is a simple process to load the new name into the system and replace the name for affected
properties.

Previous Council Consideration

The most recent Council resolution – 24 March 1994:

“Council confirm the road name “David Low Way” for the road currently called “David Low
Highway”.

Nil – all Council signage currently uses Sunshine Beach Road.

Consultation

External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder

 118 hand delivered letters to affected businesses.
 95 letters mailed to affected property owners.
 The issue was discussed with Australia Post, Noosa Police and Area Commander for
   Queensland Fire & Rescue.

Of the 213 letters sent out, only one response was received and it was in favour of the name
change to Sunshine Beach Road.
