Engineering Report & Stormwater Management Plan
Date: 27/01/2015 Document No.: 14012-ENG-04.Docx
By: AvT Revision No.: F
The proposed development will comply with the State Planning Policy December 2013 -
Healthy Waters policies.
A copy of the completed State Planning Policy December 2013 —Healthy Waters development
assessment code is attached in Appendix E.
b. Water Quality Objectives
Water quality parameters and the proposed limits applicable to this site have been selected in
accordance with South East Queensland Healthy Waterways Partnership’s Water by Design
WSUD Technical Design Guidelines for South East Queensland Version 1 (2006) and MUSIC
Modelling Guidelines for South East Queensland Version (2010).
It is proposed that best practise stormwater treatment be used and therefore it is required to
be demonstrated that achieve the following load reduction targets:
POLLUTANT TYPES WATER QUALITY OBJECTIVE (WQO)
Total Suspended Solids (TSS) 80% reduction of average annual load
Total Phosphorus (TP) 60% reduction of average annual load
Total Nitrogen(TN) 45% reduction of average annual load
Litter/gross pollutants 90% reduction of average annual load
Table 5.2: Water Quality Objectives
c. MUSIC Model
The software program Model for Urban Stormwater Improvement Conceptualisation (MUSIC)
Version 6, was used was used to assess pollutant generation and the performance of the
stormwater treatment measures for the proposed development. Selection and testing of
stormwater management options was undertaken in accordance with MUSIC Modelling
Guidelines prepared by Water by Design (2010).
The MUSIC model was set up using five catchment areas:
1. Service The proposed service station, car wash and main entry roads
2. Storage The proposed self-storage units
3. Tourist The proposed tourist park
4. Future Tourist The possible future tourist park extension
5. Future The possible future development
The catchments where further split to include roof areas, road areas and ground areas in
accordance with the MUSIC Modelling Guidelines prepared by Water by Design (2010).
