          1.0 Introduction
SPEL Environmental has been commissioned by vT Consulting Engineers to prepare a site based risk
assessment report to address the concerns raised by Noosa Regional Council regarding the proposed
service station development located at Corner Myall Street & Ferrells Road, Cooroy, QLD. The aerial
image of the site is shown in Figure 1.1.

                                                                                            Subject Site

          1.1 Objectives
The Overall objective of this report is to demonstrate that installation of the SPEL Puraceptor to treat the
stormwater runoff from the high risk area is compatible with the Noosa Regional Council requirements and
that the SPEL Puraceptor is the appropriate SQID to be applied for such applications providing equivalent
advantages to the suggested design by the Noosa Regional Council (i.e. Blind Sump and separate GPT).

The main environmental concerns that have been issued by the Noosa City Council are as follows:
 Ensure that the fuel dispensing area, tank filling area and one extra additional stormwater pit
drains and channeled to a SPEL® Puraceptor with a minimum capacity of 10,000 litres prior to
discharge to Council’s stormwater drainage system.
 Ensure the SPEL® Puraceptor is maintained every six months or if the probe alarm is activated
and that all regulated waste from the SPEL® Puraceptor is removed from the premises by a
licensed waste transporter and disposed of at a licensed waste treatment facility. Receipts for the
SPEL® Puraceptor maintenance, waste collection and transportation of waste must be retained
on site and made available to a Council officer on request.
