contractor and disposed of at a licensed waste treatment facility. Receipts for the transport and
disposal of the waste must be retained and made available to any authorised Council officer upon
request.
This report aims to response to these potential concerns and demonstrate that all the runoff from the high
risk area is treated with the SPEL Puraceptor. Moreover the effluent water quality from the SPEL
Puraceptor matches the required conditions outlined by the Noosa Regional Council.
1.2 Scope of Work
The scope of work was developed in reference to the concerns raised by the Noosa Regional Council and
the request from the vT Consulting Engineers will include the following:
A plan showing high & low risk areas.
A site based risk assessment to demonstrate that the proposed SPEL is equivalent or better than
the conditioned set up of a blind sump and GPT.
1.3 Executive Summary
The detail of calculations are shown in Chapter 3 of this report, however it can be summarised here that
based on the 538m2 of forecourt and the corresponding rainfall intensity of 6 minutes duration for a 20 year
ARI event, the runoff to the SPEL Puraceptor would be 31.8L/s. The proposed designed Puraceptor has a
treatment flow rate of 50L/s. The spill containment capacity of the designed SPEL Puraceptor is 10,000L.
Therefore in the event that a spill was to occur, the Puraceptor has well and thoroughly enough capacity to
prevent any catastrophe and hence does comply with Noosa Regional Council requirements. These points
are all more elaborated in the site based assessment section in chapter 3.
