          2.0      Proposed Solution: SPEL Puraceptor
          The SPEL Puraceptor is a full retention oil separator that treats the runoff generated in the service stations.
          It is sized to contain more than the anticipated maximum oil spillage (industry standard practice is 8,000L)
          enabling it to be fully operational at all times. The flow tests conducted by the University of South Australia
          Hydraulics Research Laboratory (UniSA) and at HR Wallingford United Kingdom confirms that the unit
          complies with the European Standard BS EN 858.1.2006. The Australian Runoff Quality Handbook (ARQ)
          makes several references to the BS EN 858.1.2006 standard in chapter 9 (Hydrocarbon Management). It
          achieves a water discharge quality of less than 5 mg light liquids per litre complying with European
          Standard BS EN 858 (Appendix 1). Treatable flow rates range from 2 L/sec to 200 L/sec and its pipe sizes
          range from 100mm to 450mm. SPEL Puraceptor units are glass reinforced plastic vessels made by the
          technical advanced chop hoop filament winding process (patented) producing circumferential and
          longitudinal strength complying with BS4994 FRP Pressure Vessel code and AS 2634FRP Chemical
          Equipment to ensure the construction meets the necessary strength and stability requirements. The tank is
          designed to accept ground conditions with low stiffness down to 4.8MPa, water tables are set to ground
          level as standard with a minimum depth of cover, based on a standard soil density.
          The treatment efficiency in SPEL Puraceptor Class 1 is:
                  >99.9% hydrocarbons reduction

               >97% sediment reduction for median particle size distribution 70µm

          SPEL Puraceptors are easy and safe to clean and maintain, with provision to both chambers through
          manholes conveniently placed for vacuum - loading truck access. Cleaning is performed by personnel
          from outside the tank. No entering of the tank is required, satisfying OH&S requirements.

          The SPEL Puraceptor has many unique benefits and covers a broad duty range, making it the obvious
          choice to avert runoff contamination, and treat hydrocarbon and TSS runoff. Some of the excellent
          benefits include:
                   Suitable to discharge to local rivers and streams;

                   Approved to the stringent European Standard BS EN 858.1 2006;

               Complies with the Department of Environment Climate Change Water of NSW [DECCW] for
                    stormwater quality;

                   Lightweight fibreglass horizontal construction;

                   Complying with ANZECC 2000 Guidelines;

               Complying with the standards of Department of Environment and Resource Management of QLD
                    [DERM];

               Complying with Environmental Protection Agency [EPA] of South Australia, Northern Territory,
                    Tasmania & Victoria;

               Australian and New Zealand Environment Conservation Council Guidelines for recreational water
                    quality and aesthetics (Chapter 5);

                   Complying with the Australian Airport [Federal] Environmental Protection Act;

               Complying with the “no visible trace or sheen of oil or grease on released waters” condition force
                    by the Department of Water;

                   Duty range 2L/sec - 200L/sec;
