Figure 8.3: View looking east towards the proposed facility (arrowed) from Davis Road As indicated in Figure 8.3 existing mature vegetation aligns Davis Road and Cootharaba Road and provides a buffer from the closest dwellings located to the east and west. The separation distances of at least 150 m from the closest dwellings, in conjunction with the mature vegetation where the tallest trees are approximately 25-30 m in height, will screen the majority of the facility from nearby roads and dwellings. As a result it is anticipated that only the top of the facility and headframe may be visible above the existing tree canopy from nearby dwellings, however these views will not be visually obtrusive or detract from the natural landscape and character of the area. When travelling along Cootharaba Road and Davis, it is considered that due to the winding nature of both roads, and the existing vegetation in the area, only a small portion of the top of the facility will be intermittently visible above the vegetation. Figures 8.4-8.8 below illustrates views looking towards the facility from both Davis Road and Cootharaba Road. Views from these locations are also not anticipated to be visually obtrusive as Cootharaba is travelled by motor vehicles only at a constant speed and does not provide any opportunities for vehicles to become stationary.
