The site surrounds are characterised by large rural residential and agricultural grazing properties,
and heavily vegetated hinterland and valley areas. The Boreen Point Rural Fire Brigade depot,
which contains similar emergency communications infrastructure, is located approximately 100 m
west of the proposal. The proposed facility will be set back approximately 150 m from the closest
dwelling located to the north east. Figure 8.3 below provides an aerial photograph demonstrating
the existence of existing mature vegetation in the surrounding area which will provide screening
benefits in all directions from the adjacent properties and transport routes.
