At time of assessment and approval of the relevant applications above, the flood extent of
Mckinnon Drive was not known.
Lake Weyba Drive Approvals
Council has considered and refused two applications due to flooding risks, extended isolation
times, (up to 3 days), bushfire and filling issues along Lake Weyba Drive, Noosaville. These lots
are considered to have a different risk level than the Cooroibah site as they are located in an urban
area, have smaller lot areas, are less self-sufficient in terms of services with residents expecting a
different level of risk and service compared to rural residential areas.
Biodiversity, Waterways and Wetlands Overlay Code
Councils Environmental Officer has provided the following comments:
The proposed development area has sections covered by the Biodiversity, Waterways and
Wetlands Overlay. The western boundary has mapped Areas of Biodiversity Significance with
Areas of Biodiversity Significance and MSES areas mapped to the south-east and southern
boundaries. Two large portions of the lot are also mapped as Riparian Buffer with a waterway
stopped at the boundary of the proposed lot.
