Project related 2.2 Site Inspection A site inspection was undertaken by Courtney Wharton of RHDHV on 3 January 2024, to observe the site conditions and undertake field measurements of the beach. The ‘seaward toe of the frontal dune’ was mapped using a handheld GPS to assist with determining the erosion prone area width at the site. The ‘seaward toe of the frontal dune’ was determined based on the guidance provided in the ‘Coastal Hazards Technical Guide’ (Department of Environment and Heritage Protection, 2013) and the notes of the erosion prone area plan NOS3A dated 8 July 2015 prepared by the Department of Environment and Science (refer Appendix B). Figure 2-1 shows the ‘seaward toe of the frontal dune’ at Sunshine Beach near the subject site. 2.3 Survey Survey of the site and adjoining beach system was undertaken by AJS Surveys on the 1st December 2023. The survey is presented in Appendix C. The survey has been supplemented with bathymetry survey captured in 2011 as part of the Sunshine Coast Bathymetric LiDAR (Department of Environment and Science, 2011) to describe the beach profile through the surf zone to the depth of closure. 2.4 Dune Toe RHDHV have adopted a level of 2.25m AHD as the toe of the dune based on analysis of aerial photography, detailed survey and the current vegetation line (refer Figure 2-2). The distance from the rear property boundary of the site to the toe of the frontal dune approximately 70 metres. 11 April 2024 4-6 ARAKOON CRESCENT, SUNSHINE BEACH PA3660-RHD-XX-ZZ-RP-Z-0001 8
