EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report considers the provision of timber and green waste services to support Council’s waste
management and recycling operations at three (3) sites.

This is a schedule of rates contract for an initial period of three (3) years. There will be the option
to extend for a further three (3) terms of up to twelve months each at Council’s discretion.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Waste Coordinator to the Services & Organisation Committee
Meeting dated 7 August 2018 and:
A.                       Award tender 1718T112 Timber and Green Waste Processing to Mulch Management
                         (Aust) Pty Ltd; and
B.                       Award the contract for an initial term of up to three (3) years, with an option to extend for
                         three (3) terms of up to twelve (12) months each. The option to extend will be at Council’s
                         own discretion and subject to the contractor’s ability to meet the requirements under the
                         contract and pricing.


REPORT
The invitation of public tenders for Timber and Green Waste Processing was advertised on LG
Tenderbox on 11 May 2018. At tender box close on 5 June 2018 submissions were received
from the following eleven (11) respondents (in alphabetical order):

                       Emberwell Pty Ltd t/as Corbet's Haulage
                       Ironjack Recycling Pty Ltd
                       Mulch Management (Aust) Pty Ltd
                       Rippa Services Group Pty Ltd t/as Gold Coast Mulching Services
                       We Just Grind It Vegetation Management Qld Pty Ltd.

Two (2) of the submissions were regarded as non-conforming due to one providing no pricing
and the other only providing pricing to an alternate specification.
