SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 AUGUST 2018

Come and Try Adventure Challenge
“Just wanted to say thanks for Sunday’s tri-adventure. What an awesome event. So good for the
soul! Really appreciate the access to the kayak and the mountain bike - that was really special ...
As were the trails we ran, the forest we peddled through and the birds in the lake that we tried not
to disturb as we kayaked to the next check point. Felt so lucky to live in this part of the
world. We appreciate your efforts & are extremely grateful for the decisions you make with
respect to maintaining Noosa's beautiful natural assets - it is these environmental assets that
give us vitality and joy in the turbulent rat race of life.”

Queens Baton Relay – Baton Bearer Feedback
“Thank you for a wonderful day, thank you to you and the team for organising such a wonderful
event. The warmth and energy that the team had made the day even more special, from the bus
to the police to the helpers along the way a big thank you.”

Queens Baton Relay - Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) and the Queen’s
Baton Relay (QBR) team
“I want to thank you for all your support and assistance in bringing the Queen’s Baton to
Tewantin and Noosa! Thank you to you and the entire Local Working Group for your efforts in
coordinating both celebrations and pulling together all the logistical elements required for the
relay. I know it takes a lot of work and we couldn’t have done it without you. You have both been
wonderful to work with over the last 18 months or so – it is always a pleasure dealing with you
and I love how much enthusiasm you have brought to all aspects of planning for the relay. You
always kept me on my toes. Our team were thrilled to bring the relay to the Noosa region and it
was great to see how the community really got behind the different elements of the relay – the
large number of smiling, cheering faces all along the route through to the community celebrations
– so many people on Main Beach!! A number of people in our team commented to me about
how great the crowds were in Noosa – definitely our biggest yet!”

Come and Try Sports day – School feedback
“Massive thanks to Noosa Council. It was an absolutely superb afternoon that ran so smoothly.
The kids loved it. Congratulations on a really super job pulling it all together.”

External Grant recipient
“We’d like to thank you again for your help with our grant applications in August last year. You
advised us to apply for the Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant, as well the GPPS grant,
since there was so much competition, and we heard last Friday that we were successful. The
grant is for the resurfacing of courts 1 and 2. So many thanks for your assistance!”

Grow Your Arts event attendee feedback
“Thank you for yesterday afternoon. All the Council representatives were fabulous, prepared,
practiced, informative, approachable, and concise. And having Gail talk about her experiences
was a real winner.”

Northern Sunshine Coast Network facilitated by CDO– new participant feedback:
“I would like to express my appreciation for being invited to this meeting and thought it was one
of the best meetings I have attended because of the number and diversity of attendees. I
received five new referrals to my Employment Service.”

Noosa Community Partnership Roundtable - Johns’ Landing Project
“The group discussion saw a wonderful collaboration of ideas between a range of government
agencies and community service providers. Together, we found places to live for people affected
by the camp's closure and provided them with referral to support groups to help them move on
with the next phase of their lives.” Department of Housing & Public Works.”

“This innovative approach of joint service provision achieved independent accommodation
outcomes for 84 disadvantaged residents. The outcome of the collaborative approach has
