resulted in agreement by all round table participants to continue this approach to support the
disadvantaged community members. This will result in assisting with supporting the most

Synergies
“The successful relocation, and indeed betterment of the future of many of the residents who were
relocated, is testimony to the successful collaboration, co-operation and learnings of those at the
Roundtable. Noosa Council is to be commended for their initiative in this collaborative project and
the manner in which it steered the group toward a successful outcome.” St Vincent de Paul
2018/19 Priorities
While there has been good progress towards achieving the outcomes detailed in the three year
Social Strategy implementation plan, there remains a considerable body of work to be
undertaken.
It is therefore recommended that the Plan remain substantially as is for the next year, before
being reviewed and updated in the 2019/20 financial year. Priorities for 2018/2019 include:
Finalise the Cultural and Community Health and Wellbeing Plans
Implement key actions identified in Council Transport Strategy, Cultural Plan, Public Health
Plan and Sport and Active Recreation Plan.
Peregian Beach Community House relocation as part of the Rufous St Masterplan Stage 3
project
Review and develop the Noosa District and Cooroy Sports Complex Master Plan.
Finalise and adopt the Difficult to Locate Sports Facilities Plan.
Work with the roundtable to advocate for improved State and Federal funding and facilitate
programs which aim to reduce social isolation and support people with mental illness.
Encourage and facilitate opportunities for young people to engage with Noosa Council.
Specifically, hold a ‘Council Hack’ event, creating an opportunity for young people to ask
Councillors questions around key issues impacting them based on a Q & A style format,
with previously workshopped questions.
Review the RADF program in line with the Cultural Plan once adopted.
Provide opportunities to showcase local organisations who provide excellence in inclusive
practices.
Conduct a review of the Noosa Regional Gallery including service delivery and location.
