The State (DEHP) administers protected flora under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. A small area
in the north is a “high risk area” as per the Protected Flora Survey Trigger Map 6 (refer Extract C). As
such separate reporting/notification is required for the Department (i.e. a separate process to Council
approval).

2.5 Flying-Fox Colonies
The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection7 has mapped the locations of flying-fox
colonies within Southeast Queensland. Flying-fox camps (as at February 2016) have been identified
to the west, including along Weyba Creek (refer Extract D). Note: there are no flying-fox camps on the
subject land or surrounds. A small flying-fox camp occurs at Pinnaroo Park in Noosa Junction, some
distance from the site (pers.obs.2021).
