Ecological Assessment Report v1 NCES REF: J000542 Lot 9 on RP225312 – 100 Cooyar Street, Noosa Heads 5.2 Fauna 5.2.1 Impacts The impacts to fauna species anticipated as a result of the development are anticipated to be minimal and primarily relate to the development of the existing modified area host to small number of trees. Potential impacts to fauna comprise: o Reduced nocturnal habitat/foraging suitability via introduction of artificial lighting of external buildings environs which may result in greater light flux emittance than the current building emits; and o Injury or death of fauna during vegetation clearing. 5.2.2 Mitigation Measures The impact of the proposed development to fauna is proposed to be mitigated/minimised by: Locating all built infrastructure in existing cleared areas anticipated to host limited fauna utilisation/occupancy; Extensive landscaping associated with the project is expected to offset impacts to vegetation; Appropriate erosion and sediment control works are recommended to mitigate any significant impacts to the adjacent waterway and wetlands area; and A suitably qualified and experienced fauna spotter catcher to be engaged to supervise vegetation clearing on the site. © 2022 24
