extend beyond 5 metres either side of the fence.
Lot 77 will retain 270.53 hectares of regional
ecosystems on site following the works. Therefore,
the clearing required for the landfill expansion is
0.3% of the remnant vegetation in Lot 77.
Area of clearing for proposed expansion = 0.9ha
Area of biodiversity overlay remaining = 269.51ha
The proposed clearing is in accordance with the
Master Plan for the site, which aims to retain the
majority of Lot77 as natural vegetation, with
clearing only occurring in the southern portion of the
site for the Noosa Shire waste management facility.
Reconfiguring a Lot
PO2 AO2 N/A
New Lots are only created if they maintain Where clearing vegetation for the purpose of
ecological linkages and minimize the clearing of reconfiguring a Lot
vegetation d) new boundaries to lots do not transect and
fragment existing native vegetation;
e) new lots are created to allow for suitable
building envelopes for future buildings and
works to be located within existing cleared
areas or areas of low ecological value;
f) building envelopes are designated for each
lot; and
g) ecological linkages and ecologically
important areas are secured by
environmental covenant or transferred to
public ownership or through gazettal of a
nature reserve.
