The existing building platform has been formed by cut and fill earthworks. It is estimated that fill in this area
ranged up to 1.5 m high, with cuts up to 1 m depth. Design drawings by Best Sheds (ref. Job No.
1713555893, Sheets 1 to 8, dated 8 February 2021) detail the shed will have a plan area of 12 m by 7.5 m
and will comprise a concrete slab on ground floor with steel framing and sheet metal cladding to the walls
and roof. The shed is proposed to be located approximately 1 m off the cut face and ranges approximately
1 m to 5 m off the crest of the fill batter.

1.2 Method and Scope of Investigation
As part of our slope stability assessment, a desk-top study was carried out comprising a review of
published geological maps, aerial photos, and a ‘soil test’ report prepared by Ground Drill (Ref. 21/213,
dated 27 April 2021).
A walk-over survey was conducted in order to make an appraisal of the general condition of the site in
regard to topography, drainage, vegetation cover, geology, erosion and slope stability and existing
structures. The walk-over survey was carried out by an experienced geotechnical engineer from Tectonic
on 14 May 2021.
The results of the desk-top study and walk-over survey are included in Section 2 below.
1.3 Qualifications of Responsible Engineer
This report has been reviewed by Mr Ashley Davey, an RPEQ with more than 25 years’ experience in
geotechnical engineering, including a number of slope stability projects.
