Surface water is expected to drain well from the site considering the moderate natural gradients and low
permeability of the clay soils in the immediate subsurface, and relatively shallow depth to rockhead.

2.5    Vegetation
The immediate area of the proposed shed consisted of bare ground with exposed soils, some of which had
been covered by gravel. Medium to large size mature trees were noted on the sloping ground to the north
and south around the proposed shed, which were observed to be relatively ‘plumb’. Tree root bases were
observed within the fill embankment which had not been ‘grubbed out’ (ref. Text Figure 11). These showed
evidence of soil erosion around the root base.

2.6    Buildings and Other Structures
No structures were present on site at the time of our assessment. The existing driveway pavement displayed
longitudinal cracking along the edges, however this did not appear to have been caused by slope instability.
