SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 AUGUST 2019
The above attendance figures are inclusive of university attendance and all events and bookings
at The J. Attendance growth at The J has continued and further increased to 90,992, setting a
new record high.
The J’s cost per visit, exclusive of depreciation and internal charges, was $2.36, down marginally
from last year’s measure of $2.38. Inclusive of uncontrollable costs this figure increases to $8.10,
down 9.2% on last year’s figure of $8.92 and due entirely to a change in internal charges cost
allocation methodology.
The total value of tickets sold in 2018/19 was $1,013,781, down marginally from last year. Likely
reasons again include a slight pullback in economic conditions and a couple of cancelled events.

BCC
The key customers at BCC remain Noosa Gymnastics Club (Main Hall lease), Noosa Montessori
School (Demountable building lease and Annex hire with intention to lease) and Little Seed
Theatre Company (Noosa Montessori School sublets space to this group). No usage occurs
outside of these groups due to the permanent and exclusive nature of the usage agreements.
Visitation statistics are not maintained for BCC.
3. STAFFING
The J staff continue to oversee BCC’s operations and the small team does a great job of running
both centres in a highly efficient manner, particularly when compared to other similar venues with
larger teams. Workload pressures remain high for key staff and this issue will be further reviewed
and addressed in the next business plan.
4. SYSTEMS & PROCESSES AND OTHER MATTERS
The J
Pressure on storage space continues, however, capital works projects are in place to
alleviate the immediate issues, namely completion of additional storage under the rear
access ramp.
