Council was successful in a grant application for the Regional Startup Hubs Support Program for
$25k per annum for three years. This funding will be used to invest in a support resource that will
assist with program management.
5. SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND OTHER MATTERS
The Hub uses a cloud-based co-work management platform which automates subscription billing
for members, allows for ad-hoc billing (e.g. meeting rooms, etc.) and resource bookings.
The Hub has adopted ZOHO software to manage its customer database and email
communications.
6. PROGRAMS, EVENTS, AND ACTIVITIES
In the 1st year of operation, the Hub has delivered an ambitious slate of capacity-building
activities which have generated significant value for Noosa’s digital sector and provided a
valuable public service to the broader Noosa community. These activities have helped to put the
Hub and Noosa on the map as a destination for digital talent and innovation.
Ecosystem Organisation Program
Despite the fact that there are numerous digital professionals in the Shire, there has been a lack
of relevant industry groups, regular meetups, industry directories, job boards and digital events.
This has made it difficult to communicate and coordinate the industry, get attendance at events,
recruit locally, find jobs, find service providers, meet local collaborators, attract investors, attract
clientele and get integrated into the industry.
The Hub’s Ecosystem Organisation Program was launched in Jan 2019 to accelerate the
organisation of the local ecosystem and address these shortcomings. The Hub now hosts a
vibrant program of curated monthly events which are helping inspire and upskill the digital
creative community in Noosa to grow the profile of the sector and attract opportunities for local
service providers.
Working with leaders from key digital industry sectors, the Hub has helped to establish and/or
build the following groups:
Digital Sub-sector Group Name Established Members
Technologists Coding from Beach April 2012 489
Digital Agencies, Creatives & REBOOT Feb 2019 180
Marketers
Screen Professionals Screen Collective March 2019 104
