SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 AUGUST 2019
Key Comments Boreen Point Campground
Operating revenue for the 2018/19 financial year is under budget primarily due to un-
favourable weather conditions during April/May. Unfavourable weather and predictions of
same can negatively impact visitation at campground facilities in off peak periods as
customers can make last minute weather dependent booking decisions with the knowledge
that a late booking is likely to be accepted due to lower off peak site demand.
Operating expenses for the 2018/19 financial year aligned with budget.

Operating revenue for the 2018/19 financial year has exceeded budget despite the impact
of site disruption due to renewal works to the two amenity buildings.
Operating expenses for the 2018/19 financial year have exceeded budget due to emergent
electrical repair works and maintenance to the foreshore camping area.

Operating Surplus 40,749 180,012 117,650 (62,362)
Operating revenue for the 2018/19 financial year exceeded original budget forecasts but is
below amended budget forecasts due to the uncertainty of site redevelopment works.
Operating expenses for the 2018/19 financial year slightly exceeded budget primarily due
to increases in water and waste water cartage costs.
Redevelopment works are timed to commence in July 2019 and are scheduled for
completion prior to the commencement of the upcoming Christmas school holiday period.
PARK OCCUPANCY PERFORMANCE
The table below summarises occupancy data to 30 June 2019. The table highlights the
consistently high levels of occupancy for Noosa River Holiday Park, which reflect the location of
the park and its popularity with customers. The Noosa North Shore and Boreen Point
Campgrounds’ lower occupancy rates reflect that these facilities are more remote and offer a
different experience for customers (and noting North Shore only operated for approximately 10
months when comparing performance to 2017/18).
