SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA 12 SEPTEMBER 2019
Amendments to Administration Subordinate Local Law No.1
There are various administration changes to allow for the operation of short stay letting including the inclusion of
Schedule 214 - operation of short stay letting (Schedule). The Schedule is made up of 9 sections which are explained
below.
Section 1
Section 1 identifies the prescribed activity being the Operation of short stay letting. The operation of short stay
letting means the provision, or making available, on a commercial basis, of short stay letting.
Section 2
Section 2 identifies premises which do not need to apply for a Local law approval. Generally, all short term
accommodation requires a Local Law approval, except for units used for short term accommodation in a complex
which has an on-site manager who is responsible for managing the complex and the units are in the letting pool
and managed by the on-site manager. This means that if a unit is not in the letting pool then a Local Law approval
is required.
