2. CUSTOMERS
The NAC recorded 232,074 attendances for the year which was a 45% increase on the previous
year’s Covid-affected figure of 159,721. Pleasingly this result was just 3.6% less than the centre’s
last full year of operation in 2018/19. This demonstrates that patrons are largely keen to maintain
their lifestyle and fitness regimes despite recurring operating disruptions.
Traditionally the NAC has had limited lane availability during peak times, although this wasn’t as
big an issue this year due to the Covid-19 restrictions and disruptions. Demand for space will
continue to be managed carefully as the centre returns to more typical utilisation levels. The St
Andrew’s pool continues to alleviate some pressure on space as select activities, including some
water polo sessions, shift away from the NAC.
