32. I have identified a further example of a reverse parking space with obscured views on Emerald Street. The
parking spot (annotated in Figure 9), on the southern side of Emerald Street, west of Maple Street, is located in
front of 2B Emerald Street. A driver of a car parked in this space would clearly have their view of the Maple
Street / Emerald Street roundabout obscured until they reversed a few metres back onto Emerald Street.

33. There is also the carpark located in the road reserve south of and adjacent to the Cooroy Kindergarten (formerl y
an extension of Diamond Street across the railway line). This also has a westernmost bay located on the
northern side which requires drivers of vehicles parked there to reverse into the aisle — where cars may have
just turned in from Maple Street. There are various signs and landscape elements that could obscure sightlines.
34. It is notable that none of the 3× existing reverse park locations I have identified is causing a safety issue and
these examples are indicative that the operation of such spaces is not inherently dangerous in the Cooroy town
centre. The western space adjacent to the subject site would not be expected to cause any systematic safety
issues — certainly not above or beyond that of these other council-controlled locations where similar operational
      aspects are in place.
