REPORT
1. Background
The purpose of this report is to update Council on the latest round of public consultation for the
Draft Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan and seek adoption of the final Foreshore Plan.
Council embarked on the Foreshore Plan project in 2016 in response to increasing recreational,
community and commercial use demands along the Gympie Terrace foreshore (see study area in
Figure 1 below). The Foreshore Plan is intended to provide a tool to help manage land uses
within the foreshore recreation reserves, which are State land for which Council is trustee. The
Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRME) indicates the Foreshore Plan’s
drafting and community consultation has been undertaken appropriately and it expects it will be
endorsed as a compliant Land Management Plan in accordance with the provisions of the Land
Act 1994.
