3. EXECUTION OF WORK 3.1. EARTH WORKS General Assumption that civil earthworks will provide finished levels from required landscape levels. The Contractor will be required to achieve smooth even grading to landscape areas. The Contractor shall allow to remove existing plant matter, debris, rubble or other loose materials likely to interfere with the new work, and consolidate the filling to all resulting excavations. The Contractor is required to carry out final trimming of the entire works of the grades. Any areas of discrepancy from the Drawings should be brought to the attention of the Landscape Architect. Earth Mounds Planting mounds shall be formed from topsoil to the depths as required. The profile shall be such that the placement of topsoil, soil mix and mulch shall bring the mounds to the finished levels shown on the drawings. Slopes to mounds shall be no greater than 1:3 unless otherwise shown on the drawings. Ensure existing ground levels in locations of mounds are deep ripped 150mm prior to formation of mounds. Rake over all mounds for smooth profile. Filling in layers as stated above. 3.2. SETTING OUT Prior to commencing each stage of the Landscape works, set out alignments of all paths, walls and planting must be inspected and approved by Balmain & Co.
