EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Community Development Coordinator to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 10 May 2016 and approve funding for the following
projects:
A.                       The Noosa Long Weekend Carnevale event ($4,000);
B. The Noosa Strade Bianche cycle event ($3,420); and
C. Sponsorship of the Healthy Towns Awards ($1,000).

REPORT
The purpose of this report is for Council to consider and approve three projects for out of round
grants funding.

The assessment team is recommending that three projects, which originally applied for funding in
the 2016/17 grant round, be considered for out of round funding in the current financial year due
to:
 the timing of the events within the first six weeks of the new financial year;
 early consideration of these applications by Council will give the event organisers certainty in
    planning their events; and
 the availability of funding in the 2015/16 community grants budget.

The projects recommended for funding are all consistent with Council’s Social Strategy
objectives and eligible for funding under Council’s Community Grant Policy.

A description of the project, the recommended funding amount and the purpose for which funding
has been allocated is detailed below.
