5. MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
5.1 Consideration of Impacts
A consequence of the development is the clearing of trees and other vegetation. Avoiding disturbance
to the surrounding bushland would be the primary measure to minimise broader ecological impacts.
Management of fauna during the clearing process will also ensure unnecessary fauna mortality.
5.2 Management Measures
Management and mitigation of the above mentioned potential impacts can be enforced through
approval conditions, standard best-practice design and construction.
The primary mitigation (or avoidance) measures are summarised below.
• Clear demarcation of the area to be cleared/retained prior to construction/clearing
operations
• Establishment of permanent fencing/barrrier for allotments immediately adjacent to the
conservation land in the southwest (i.e. allotments 13, 14 and 15)
• Management of fauna during clearing (e.g. fauna spotter/s, pre-clearing surveys, etc.)
• Erosion control measures associated with the drainage line in the west
• Stormwater management to ensure no adverse impacts to drainage line to the
west/southwest
• Landscaping within the development area to include the use of suitable native species
• Implementation of measures within the Open Space Management Plan
