Entering into a sub‐lease where DNRM approval is also required is nothing new, it happens all the time. It does take
longer to acquire but is entirely possible. I think we should pursue this more before switching candidates. Dean, see
what your DNRM contact comes back with, but if we could get them to advised the Fire Service it has the possibility
of being approved, but that it just has to go through an approval process that would be good.

Hi All,

Please see the email below from Dept Communities, Rural Fire Service.

They are not willing to support a sub‐lease, mainly it would seem, as it will require them to change the
terms/purpose of their lease. I might point out that this position is at odds with that provided to us when we initially
contacted them in July last year.

There are a couple of options, we can either move to one of the other candidates (private freehold) or we could look
to secure a term lease on the unused road reserve adjacent to the Rural Fire lot (there appears to be more than
adequate space). I have left a message with our contact at DNRM at Nambour to discuss this option and expect to
hear back from him tomorrow.
