5.6 Environmental Protection Act 1994
An existing service station is located in the north-western corner of the site and forms part of the existing
Noosa Civic centre. The service station is serviced by underground fuel storage tanks with a total holding
capacity in excess of 200 litres. The service station is therefore prescribed as a Notifiable Activity by Schedule
2 to the Environmental Protection Act 1994. Consequently the site is included on the EMR.

5.7 Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
Cardno has undertaken a technical assessment to identify and describe the existing environment (flora and
fauna) on the site to determine whether the clearing, construction and use of the proposed expansion of Noosa
Civic will have or is likely to have a significant impact on any Matters of National Environmental Significance
(MNES) under the EPBC Act.
Only Threatened Species and Migratory Species were found or were predicted to utilise the habitats of the
study area.
