1.7 Relationship to other referred actions or proposals
The proposed action is not part of a larger action. However, it is noted that TMR have referred ten unrelated
proposed actions to the Commonwealth Minister of the Environment for consideration in the last three years.
A list of these proposed actions is provided in Table 1.2. TMR understand and are committed to meeting the
intent of the EPBC Act and DAWE’s requirements. Using the precautionary principle, where TMR identify
that there is potential for a proposed action to significantly impact upon MNES, the relevant proposed action
is referred to the Commonwealth Minister for the Environment for determination.

1.8 Public consultation
A Communication Engagement Plan has been prepared for the project as a practical guide for the
implementation of communication and stakeholder engagement activities for detailed design and
construction of the Six Mile Creek Bridge replacement project.
Targeted consultation began in early 2021 with letters distributed to directly affected property owners.
Subsequently, a number of activities were undertaken including notifications advising of the project details to
key stakeholders and the community. A media statement was also released announcing design starting for
the project and updates were made to TMR’s project web page.
Meetings have been held with interested community groups and Council. TMR will continue to keep these
groups updated.
Early community feedback has assisted with specific provisions and inclusions in the detailed design.
Design investigations identified a reduced impact on directly affected landowners. Further consultation with
these landowners are ongoing.
The team will continue to update the community, internal and external stakeholders, and elected State
members as the project progresses.
As part of the consultation process for the cultural heritage component of this project, TMR has engaged with
the relevant Aboriginal Party (Kabi Kabi First Nation Traditional Owners Native Title Claim Group) to invite
them to participate in the early phases of assessment of the Six Mile Creek Bridge Replacement Project.
The legislative requirements for this project require consultation with the Kabi Kabi people to ensure that the
Duty of Care Guidelines, as it relates to the management of Aboriginal cultural heritage are assessed and
guided by recommended mitigation strategies suitable to relevant stakeholders.
