Figure 4.3 - MUSIC Stormwater Treatment Train
4.2.1.1. Rainwater Tank
The rainwater tank has been modelled as a single 50kL storage volume with a 150mm overflow outlet.
Multiple rainwater tanks may be used to supply the reuse storage volume, however they will be
connected in series and function as a single unit with a single overflow outlet discharging into the
bioretention area.
Rainwater reuse has been calculated in accordance with the MUSIC Modelling Guidelines by Water
By Design (2018). Internal reuse demands are considered based on 8 1-bedroom units, and 3 2-
bedroom units as follows:
Occupancy – 11 x 1 & 2 Bedroom – 1.2/unit * 11
13.2 persons
Water demand – Toilets (full water saving) – 21L/person/day
Laundry (full water saving) -26L/person/day
Daily demands – 620.4L/day
External irrigation is considered to apply an annual irrigation application of 548mm over an area of
75% of the measured pervious areas (602m²) for an annual demand of
Irrigation – 0.548m * 0.75 * 602m²
247.4kL/year
