EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Council adopts its meeting timetable on an annual basis. This enables the community to be
aware of when Council meetings are scheduled and for staff to develop timetables for preparing
agendas for those meetings. This report puts forward for adoption the proposed timetable for January
to December 2025.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Chief Executive Officer to the Services & Organisation Committee
Meeting dated 12 November 2024 and approve the Council Meeting schedule for January-December
2025 as set out in Attachment 1 to the Report.
REPORT
At the Post Election Meeting on 8 April 2024, Council adopted its Council Meeting structure
incorporating three Standing Committees and an Ordinary meeting. The meeting structure was
discussed at various time since that meeting and has remained unchanged with meetings being held
on a monthly cycle.
As per previous years, the first meeting round of the year (January 2025) will consist of only a
General Committee Meeting (20 January) and an Ordinary Meeting (23 January). There will be no
Planning & Environment Committee or Services & Organisation Committee meeting held in January
due to the timing of report deadlines conflicting with the Christmas/ New Year period and the
availability of staff and Councillors over this time.

at least once per year, a notice of the days and times of its Ordinary meetings and Standing
Committee meetings. Section 257 of the Regulation requires local governments to meet at least
