PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 FEBRUARY 2020
The SEQ Regional Plan supports sustaining regional landscapes to benefit and support the
community’s physical and mental health and wellbeing, enhance a sense of place and community
cohesion and benefit tourism. High value scenic amenity represents a concentration of multiple
landscape values, functions, ecosystem services and community benefits. Values such as scenic
amenity contribute to SEQ being a biodiverse and liveable region.
A NBN tower in this location is not entirely consistent with the above intent as the proposal is
considered to conflict with the protection of the regional landscape values.
Planning Regulation 2017
The proposal is not considered an urban activity in the regulation. The site is located within the
Regional Landscape and Rural Production Area and is consistent with the assessment
benchmarks contained in the Planning Regulation 2017 for the SEQ Region.
