State Development Assessment Provisions
The State Development Assessment Provisions (SDAP) set out the matters of interest to the state for
development assessment, where the State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) is responsible for assessing
or deciding development applications as assessment manager or as a referral agency. The Development
Assessment Mapping System (DAMS) identifies the site as being affected by the Coastal Area - Medium Storm
Tide Inundation Area overlay (Figure 8).
Within State Code 8: Coastal development and tidal works of the State Development Assessment Provisions
(version 2.2), no Performance or Acceptable Outcomes are prescribed for development with the Storm Tide
Inundation Area overlay. Additionally, the Code is applicable to Operational Work which is not assessed by
Local Government. An application for Operational Works will be lodged to Council after receiving the
development permit for the MCU.
An assessment against the Natural Hazards Overlay Code has been prepared and included within this
application. Therefore, assessment against the Performance and Acceptable Outcomes prescribed within State
Code 8 is not applicable.
