Modern hostels not only have to provide value for money and be well located, but to be successful they have
to look good. In today’s market hostel accommodation has to feel unique and be representative of the city
people are visiting. To meet the demands of the market, hostels must provide a range of accommodation types
from one-bedroom ensuites to the traditional eight-bedroom dorm rooms. Today’s tourists are seeking better
outcomes than traditional backpacker developments which Council may have seen in the past. The industry
sector is known as adventure tourism.
The proposed visitor accommodation provides an alternative accommodation experience and visitor market
for Noosaville. The development will offer contemporary accommodation and recreational facilities and is an
alternative experience to the existing hostel accommodation facilities located in the Shire.
