B14101-SK-004.
Plates 1 to 10 cover Section 3 (immediately south of King Parrot Lane), Plates 11 to 25
cover Section 6 (the major cut), and Plates 26 to 38 cover Section 1 (starting at Old Ceylon
Road).
The locations of photographs taken in each section are shown on the attached drawings
REE-TFR-GT-002, REE-TFR-GT-004 and REE-TFR-GT-005. The photographic plates are
presented as Attachment D.
5.0 Fieldwork Findings
5. 1 Auger Holes
The results of the fieldwork are presented in the form of Non-Cored Drill Hole Geological
Logs in Appendix A. Explanatory notes describing terms used on the logs are presented in
Appendix B.
DCP tests were undertaken at locations where fill materials were encountered below the
pavement gravels. The results are presented in Table 1 below:

These DCP results indicate that the fill soils are moderately to well compacted.
Results of the auger hole investigation indicate that in general terms the pavement profile is
comprised of the following layers:
1. Base-course/running surface – Clayey Sandy Gravel (GC), about 80% coarse
fraction/20% fines, dry, maximum particle size 37.5 mm, varying in thickness from 30
mm to 130 mm (average 90 mm), overlying
