EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Civil Operations Technical Officer to the Services and
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 8 May 2018, and:
A.                       Award tender 1718T045 Crushing to the following contractors:
                         i.    Portion A – Ringtail Creek Quarry: Rosenlund Contractors Pty Ltd.
                         ii.   Portion B – Eumundi Road Landfill: Rosenlund Contractors Pty Ltd.
B.                       Award the Contract for an initial term of up to three (3) years, with an option to extend for
                         two (2) further periods of up to twelve (12) months each. The option to extend will be at
                         Council’s own discretion and subject to the Contractor’s ability to meet the requirements
                         under the Contract.



REPORT
Crushing is a key part to operations at the Council owned and operated Ringtail Creek Quarry
and Eumundi Landfill Sites.

At Ringtail Creek Quarry, virgin quarry materials and waste from construction and maintenance
projects are crushed and then used on a variety of Council projects.

At the Eumundi Road Landfill, crushing is required to process all concrete waste resulting from
construction and demolition activities from around the Shire. Processed material is sold to the
public as a source of revenue or used on site for various projects.

1.                       Tender Process

The tender was advertised on LG Tenderbox on 15 February 2018 with a closing date of 15
March 2018. The tender was also advertised in the Sunshine Coast Daily on 17 February 2018.
The tender consisted of two separable portions as shown below:
i.                       Portion A – Ringtail Creek Quarry;
ii.                      Portion B – Eumundi Road Landfill.
