GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 OCTOBER 2020

What is one area you would like to see Council focus spending on in future budgets?

vehicles. no plastic etc. Putting the region on the ap for its sustainab a

5/09/2020 | That would be to address the most urgent crisis facing the survival of our planet and all of its
inhabitants.... Climate Change! Therefore measures put in place to reduce our carbon
emissions in any way we can including the introduction of electric buses and charging points for
electric cars and provision for safer laneways for electric bikes and scooters.
5/09/2020 | Appreciation of the countless hours & expertise of bushcare groups who save council
thousands of dollars in skilled smart volunteer work. Eg PBCA, NPA. Vegetation management
                     expertise.
Council needs to review departments like planning(what do they do, there are no developments
or social housing projects going on, what do they do?) and library (times have changed)
Nature is Noosa’s advantage, look after it & show gratitude to all the free workforce taking care
                    of it.
Get on with the basics, review the workforce to ensure it is sleek & relevant.

residents, Council run ferry on the river?
7/09/2020 | A balanced approach to Toursm and locals. Tounsm ts a great income generator for local
a business, but it does impact the livability of the area during peak time. Unsure what the answer
                     is.
roads have no infrastructure for a mega quarry.
7/09/2020 | We need all parts of Noosa Shire to be included in your mowing and road maintenance.
Pioneer Road is suppose to be done every three months and yet again, another year it has
been done once in 9 months. Excuse every time.. Kids walk on this road and elderly people.
You need to fix the road that these quary trucks are using!!! Over 60 a day. You need to control
the time they are starting.. Pretty sure 5.00am is against noise correct? bus stops for the
children would be nice as well on Pioneer Road.. Footpaths for safe walking into town. Pomona
gets left out all the time for upgrades because your focus is always hasting... Please we are
also paying rates out here and fall under noosa shore last time | checked.
7/09/2020 | Upgrading the area between the RSL park, council chambers and the marina. | think the
historical town of Tewantin and the home of the council itself needs to have a beautiful and
more user end green co Dace
7/09/2020 | Allocate money to the Hinterland communities of Kin Kin, Pomona and Cooran to.....
                     1. Either buy Kin Kin Quarry or demand complete rebuild of the Pomona Kin Kin Road from
Sheppersons Lane (where the quarry is located) to the Old Bruce Highway. The Road has
completely degraded and is not fit for heavy vehicle use.
have not been upgraded fir so long. Provide new interest, more skill opportunities etc

The council generally has it ight. Perhaps some more infrastructure and repair spending in the
                      orgotten" areas like Cooroibah.
7/09/2020 | repairing and enhancing the steps from Hastings to Upper Hastings St. this should be a prionty
because (a) the current steps are dangerous and somebody will suffer an injury, (b) improving
this access will allow more residents / quests to walk to Hastings St and thereby reduce vehicle
traffic and increase spending on Hastings St, (c) it will align with the recent improvements to the
Park Rd walk way and related steps. thanks
7/09/2020 | It ts important that we continue to fund projects that enhance Noosa’s environmental integrity.
This is the point of difference which attracts people to the area and we also need to ensure the
flora and fauna of the area protected, even if, paradoxically to the first statement in this
sentence, that means less people. No funding should be going to business at all. Business is
private enterprise which rewards risk taking and quality product. Local government has no role
                     in this.

                                                                                          Page +
