27/09/2020 | Introduce more user
5 1 1 2 1 6 962 577 90 41 81 pays to support the budget revenue. E.g. Apart from paid visitor parking
with a ticket issued at boom gate on entry to car parks - first three hours free with a stamp from
a local business on heir ticket - also introduce he need for paid Parking permits for permanent
residents. Any ongoing kerbside parking is queried. All properties need to provide on site
vehicle parking. If not all vehicles can be accommodated within the property, a 3/6/9/12 month
permit is bought from Council and placed on windscreen. This will increase NSC revenue and
assist in reducing congestion in narrow streets such as on Noosa Hill - see Attunga Heights -
and will also reduce the use of enclosed garages being used as habitable space. It won't be
popular with all; however, with a diminishing rate base, all should contribute.
27/09/2020 | council needs to recognise our economy has to diversify. as such ratepayers who are not
related to toursim directly should have the option to direct the levy for tourism directly to
economic development. its nght the ratepayer decides how they best meet their social
obligation to invest in this economy rather than council. Economic development desperately
needs funding.
27/09/2020 | Toilets- abysmal toilet facilities for a supposed tourist hot
5 1 1 4 1 12 1509 1124 89 41 88 spot. Toilets are old, poorly
maintained & seldom cleaned. Also not enough toilets. Mt. Cooroora attracts many, inc. King Of
Mt. No toilets- bush is full of waste. Plumbing is there- water/sewage line. Just needs Council to
act.
27/09/2020 | For the foreseeable future, until there is more clarity about impacts of Covid 19, Council say
thanks, but no thanks to any State Govemment grants or gifts (eg. from developers) that mean
the need for on going expenditure from Council budget to maintain the infrastructure. An
example, is the State Govememnt grant for the kids playground in Cooroy. Graciously, decline
it. The world has changed since NSC was given this grant. Unfortunate timing as in today's
world, ratepayers/Council do not need further maintenance expenses coming from installing
this playground at this time. The Qid state government most likely would welcome the return of
the money for better use elsewhere. During the GFC many developers across the greater
Sunshine Coast region were gifting parks, lakes, retaining walls to SCRC. They shifted the on
going maintenance burden from themselves to Council. From now, NSC needs to say no to
everything that potentially means further unnecassary expenditure. Let's work at maintaining
infrastructure we already have before taken on more expenses. Thanks.
27/09/2020 | Support for the wedding industry , who provide over $65,000,000 of revenue annually to the
Noosa area.
Reducing wedding site fees to be inline with other shires wedding sites. To spend on
maintaining those sites. To build an all weather wedding chapel in Noosa woods. To spend on
Promotion to grow the wedding industry to be the premier wedding destination in Australia. To
make the Noosa Wedding Organisation a stake holder in decisions affecting the wedding
industry .
27/09/2020 | Better equipped playgrounds and parks that refiect age group for that area.Noosa Heads and
Noosa Junction prime examples These areas too expensive for very young families and yet
swings and slides have been upgraded as in A.W.Dan Admiral from a safety view as
over20years old but a drive along Leslie Drive on school moming will see every secondary
school represented! These kids want half basketball courts and skate parks ,not swings and
slides! No more sharing playgrounds with dogs off leash.Too dangerous and stop kids doing
eait outdoor p S its.
27/09/2020 | The Hinterland.
The hinteriand is being impacted by large scale development and population increase. Prepare
for the impact before the problems arse. The hinterland roads are inadequate for the increase
in traffic flow especially the dirt roads. | could go on but | wont bore you.
27/09/2020 | Creating some outdoor pavilions that the community can use on a pay per use basis. They
could be used for weddings, jazz festivals, art exhibitions. Suggested locations Noosa Woods,
Noosa Botanical gardens.
Also like Council to ensure maintenance on the wedding Groves. They are not well maintained
despite the high fees paid by couples to use them for wedding ceremonies.
