Civil RFI Response Letter
Figure 1 - Existing Driveway Conditions during Site Visit
Performance outcome 21(g) of the Reconfiguration of a Lot Code requires that for a rear
battle axe allotment, the vehicular driveway “will not have a detrimental impact on lots
adjoining the access strip due to excessive noise, light, dust, stormwater runoff and the
like”.
Discussions with Council have identified that in particular, the dust and noise impacts to a
potential subdivision and future dwelling on the adjacent lot, and the existing dwelling on
the subject site are of particular concern due to their proximity to the driveway. To ensure
minimal impacts to these properties, local sealing of the existing access driveway will be
carried out, extending approximately 50m beyond the existing dwelling. A 10mm single
coat seal with prime has been nominated for the seal due to the low volume of traffic
expected to be generated by a single dwelling.
We believe that by providing this sealing, the driveway achieves the performance
objectives required and that this will address the relevant concerns raised in the Information
request notice, however, should additional information be required please contact this
office.
Yours faithfully,
