Attachment D - Bushfire Hazard Assessment

bushfire intensity. We note that some of the high and medium bushfire hazard polygons include areas of
cleared land within and over the neighbouring properties.
The Noosa Plan Bushfire Overlay, maps areas of cleared vegetation as both High and Medium bushfire
hazards
We note the State Planning Policy (2016) – Natural Hazards, Risk and Resilience mapping differs from the
local mapping, slightly in that the State mapping has less coverage of the subject site and surrounding
properties. The State Planning Policy (2016) – Natural Hazards, Risk and Resilience mapping maps the
western boundary of the subject site as High and Medium Potential Bushfire intensity with the remainder of
the property mapped as a Potential Impact buffer area. The surrounding vegetation on the neighbouring
properties and the National Park is all mapped as combinations of High and Medium potential bushfire
intensity. Similarly, to the Council mapping, the State mapping includes areas of cleared areas as high and
medium potential bushfire intensity.
In summary both the Noosa Planning Scheme bushfire hazard overlay map and the State Planning Policy
Bushfire Hazard map, maps areas of hazardous over and around the proposed development site. There is,
however, a difference with the areas covered between the two maps.
